Rooted in Memory. Reconnecting Through the Land.

Akita in the Bush was founded by Imelda in honor of her great-grandmother, Akita-Cole: a quiet yet powerful herbalist who cared for her family and community with the plants around her. Akita’s way of healing wasn’t just in the remedies she made, but in the care she gave, the stories she held, and the deep relationship she had with the land.

Carrying this legacy forward, Imelda created Akita in the Bush as a space for others to reconnect with the earth, with ancestral memory, and with themselves. Through retreats, herbal teas, sensory experiences, and storytelling, she offers invitations back to slowness, stillness, and inner knowing.

This is more than a business. It’s a return to the wisdom that lives in our roots, to the plants that still speak, and to the parts of ourselves that modern life often asks us to forget.

Every offering through Akita in the Bush is shaped by this lineage of care. Rooted in memory, guided by the land, and created with love.

This is for Akita.
And for everyone ready to come home to themselves.
